As a Senior Java Developer, you will play a key role in developing and integrating the backend systems of the client’s new retail energy platform.

You will design, develop, and optimize microservices and event-driven processes that connect the company’s internal systems with external energy market services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop event-driven integrations using Apache Kafka (Confluent).
• Build and maintain microservices with Java (21+) and Spring Boot (3.5+).
• Create and manage REST and SOAP APIs for internal and external services.
• Ensure high standards in code quality, scalability, and system reliability.
• Collaborate closely with architects, DevOps engineers, and product owners.
• Contribute to DevOps, SRE, and CI/CD best practices.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to less experienced developers.

Eisen:

Minimum 5 years of experience in Java development (Java 21+ preferred).

Strong expertise in Spring Boot 3.5+, Kafka, and GraphQL.

Good understanding of PostgreSQL, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD.

Experience with AWS (EKS, SQS, S3) or Azure DevOps is a plus.

Solid understanding of SOA principles, REST/SOAP integrations, and SRE/GitOps.

Fluent in English and French or Dutch.

Belgian citizenship and residence in Belgium required.

Willing to work onsite 2 days per week (hybrid model).
